Assalamualaikum and Hi guys.
Recently i had a long discussion with my coworker regarding to Investment Platform in Malaysia.
And finally we has been discovered a very simple and easier investment platform which is provided by Maybank Malaysia Berhad.
Without wasting our time, we directly go to the local Maybank Branch query about the Maybank Investment Procedure. So they told us that we can only open up an investment account in certain Maybank Branch only..the nearest branch for us is Maybank Seberang Jalan Putra, Alor Setar Kedah.
Then on 25 April 2013 last 3 weeks, we successfully open up that account. Which is Central Depository System (CDS) and Trading Account from Maybank Investment. It takes about 1 week to be able to activete the CDS account. And finally on 2 May 2013, my first investment take place. Bought about 150Lot of xxx stock at RM0.365 equal to Rm5475 + RM4x.xx (Maybank Brokerage fee, contract stamp fee and cleering fee), which is i assume the price will get higher after then General Election. And alhamdullillah, my assumption is quiet right...and finally i got my first profit about RM400 within 2 weeks..which is quite ok for since this is my frist time buy and selling stocks.
Just to share with you guys, if u have extra money to spend on stocks investment. maybe you can decide to select your own CDS account. But for me, Maybank CDS is a good option to start with. comes with 0.1% charge fee, it is among the lowest rate between other CDS account provided by other Banking Company.
Trading with Maybank 2U is very easy. After your CDS account is activated, u can easily accessing the trading system through maybank2u.com
Login to maybank2u, click on Investment Tab.
Then, on the investment page, click at Online Stocks
After that, click at the Real-time Market Info option.
Here is what the maybank2u trading system look like. Pretty cool right? I would say maybank2u trading system one of the easiest system so far i tried. Only the cons are this system only can be assessed through internet explorer. Plus for mobile users, they only provide apps for apple users...so far android user currently is out from business..true. haha. Just hope one day maybank change thier mind to android user too..please.
We can watch for current stock price by clicking at the Live Quotes on the left top bar.
How to buy or sell a stock? It is indeed very simple yet very convenient. Just click on the Buy (Green button) or the Sell (Red Button), then it will pop up to you the form which you can set the quantity (1 lot = 1x100 units) and the price (will be sent to Buy Queue if current price is different) for your trade.
Conveniently, you can set the Validity of your buying order or selling order to lets the system done the sell/buy process for you. Easy like eating nuts. The only question on buying or selling stocks is which stocks are good to buy. Bear in mind, trading is not like playing a poker, or any other luck-based game. Trading is depend on our efforts, how well we know certain thing about the stocks we possibly buy? Do we really know what that stock's company business background? Examine their financing history. Reading and searching current market price, political issues etc etc..So it is not easy to be successful in stocks trading without efforts, therefore we need to take this as a serious job to be a success in stock trading. And it not so hard to be successful as long as we know, "The Success of Tomorrow Depends on the Research of Today"

First and for all, you must login to your maybank investment account. (I am showing you from computer web browser). And look at the top menu. From there you can see "Other Services" menu. Click Other Services, then click "Cash Collateral Withdrawal" > "New Request".

After that a new windows will be pop up and fill in all required details and click "Submit".

If u dont hv CDS account.u need to open one from available maybank branch
who got investment department.u can ask from maybank hotline or direct go
from ur nearest branch to ask for it.not all maybank branch got investment
department to open a cds acc.
But if u already hot ur cds acc and currently inactive.u need to contact ur
investment exec whose u previously open ur cds acc.he/she can activate ur
acc back.

Assalam, im newbies in investment biz. Could u explain how to deposit money in investment acc so that i can start to purchase stock? Currently ive opened maybank premier current acc too, but have no idea how to start buy d stock as it shows 0 in trading acc.

I just go register for stock trading and i need to pay rm10 for cds acc opening fee.and then they open for me premier 1 acc, and i need to transfer money from saving acc to premier 1 acc first before can buy stock.as i know,ur cds acc not premier 1 acc. After u log in to ur maybank investment system maybe via maybank2u or maybank investment app from google store, then from there u can check ur cds acc number. Which is better u ask from investment exec about this.

DeleteIf u really done opening ur cds and ur acc is activated (confirm with ur investment exec). so u just need to transfer ur money from saving to premier 1 acc before buying any stock.

this current account is not instantly appear on you maybank2u.
it take some time to complete the process.
And i strongly suggest u refer your maybank branch which u open this account.
p/s : im just normal maybank customer. im not a maybank officer sir. haha
hello sir, how much the minimum capital needed to trade in stock? if we trade in with minimum 1-2k only, is it worth it if plus minus the brokerage fee if we buy and sell the stock? hehe..thanks for your opinion.
ReplyDeletedepend on stock. u can get 1 lot as low as RM1.
Deletebut you must remember, there is Bank Fees and Bursa Fee.
Maybank minimum fees is RM8, maximum is 0.1% from buying/selling price
so example
a A stock price at RM0.01/unit
buy 1 Lot of stock A = RM1 (100units price) + RM8 (maybank fees) + RM1.50 (**Bursa fees this one im not sure what the exact amount just example)
so actually u need to pay RM10.50 for 100units (1 Lot)
SO IF U WANT PROFIT
u need to wait until the unit price increase up to minimum RM10.50 so now ur profit/loss = neutral. so 1 unit at price RM10.51. then u get profit.
see that? meaning u need more lot to get more profit from a little differences in price change.
U can invest with 1k or 2k but must search for lower stock unit..more lots is better.so tht small increment will make more profit.same goes to loss, small decrement will make u loss many.so better research for best stock in the market that suitable on ur investment
DeleteI have one question, since now there is maybank stocks app, do you use it? if yes, how to key in the shares you want to sell? Say, i have total shares 1275 of counter 1001, but maybank stocks app only allow me to key in *value x 100units, any idea? I've tried keying in with 1.275 into the box, but it said not valid number.

because minimum unit to buy is 100unit. which is equal to 1 lot. so 1275 is not a valid unit. 1200 is valid. unless your's 1275 is LOT that mean u have 127500 unit of share.
so the *value x 100units. mean value equal to lot amount.

Further I have transfer monet to Premier 1 yesterday night night, my saving account shown a deduction but Premier 1 account still NIL amount, why? Lastly anyway transfer money form Premier account back to saving account?

and remember the charge is for one transaction. meaning if u want to sell the stock, they will charge u too same percentage as buying the stock.

im afraid you wrongly buystock using collateralised method. (meaning you can buy stocks with 3 times you own cash money)
.please check back with your maybank investment officer. for new investor. is really recommended you buy using your own cash first..
in other words. this is contra.. its good for short sell transaction (2-3 days). dont keep too long because intraday charges is 0.15%.. if you are not understand about this its better call your investment officer right now.!
DeleteYou know what, only now I realised that I'm using collateral not cash. Unfortunately, I accidentally used all the money in the trading limit, have to force sell my share. So troublesome. The remisier did not explain all this thing to me. I think He gives me the most expensive one (0.42% min RM 28) so that they can gain more! Ugh so stupid!

I'm intending on opening Direct (cash) account here in Ipoh but am afraid might have to deal with the same guy / people like him again . So I decided to change to another broker, Malacca Securities (MPlus) . Hope don't have to deal with things like this again in the future.

Deletehi, I have direct account but dont have the option to withdraw cash myself and have to go thru the broker. apparently mine is direct account and cant do this. Only nominee account can do this. But nominee account charges Rm30 per counter action according to my broker. nominee also have the shares under MIB and not personal name. could you share with us if your account is under your personal name or nominee.

ReplyDeletePlease make sure your investment account fully activate. Then you can check your margin balance (for buying stocks) from the menu (Online Enquiries > Account Summary). You will see your cash/margin balance from that pop up screen.

Hi sir, what if I managed to buy one stock and matched, if I'm unable to sell back the stock within 1 day, will they charged me? Since I have to queue up to sell the stock at specific price. The validity is today tho.
